Joel M. Evans, M.D., a board-certified OB/GYN and international lecturer, is the Director of The Center for Functional Medicine in Ridgefield, CT. He is also the Chief of Medical Affairs for the Institute for Functional Medicine. He continues to serve as the external lead of IFM Advanced Practice Module in Hormone Health and was a Co-Creator of the IFM course on COVID-19, has lead its Post-Covid Initiative and has co-authored three published papers on the pandemic. He has a special interest in genetic risk assessment for cancer and other chronic diseases and has been appointed as Chief Medical Officer for geneType Inc, an international laboratory that assesses risk for serious illness, and serves as Medical Director of the Keep A Breast Foundation, bringing the latest information on cancer risk assessment and prevention to his patients. He currently is focused on bringing the latest science-based information on longevity medicine to as many practitioners as possible.
Dr. Evans has been a student and practitioner of mind/body medicine since his initial training with Jim Gordon, MD and the Center for Mind/Body Medicine in 1997. Having pursued his interests in functional medicine, mind/body medicine, spirituality, and personal transformation for many years, Dr. Evans is dedicated to sharing this wisdom with others to help bring health and happiness into their lives.
