The Vagus Nerve-Nitric Oxide Connection: Building Inflammatory and Regulatory Resilience

Feb 21 2025

1:30 PM - 2:30 PM EDT

Gibson

In this presentation, attendees will learn about the specific body-brain circuits relaying inflammatory and regulatory functions to the central nervous system, as well the nutritional, supplemental and neuromodulatory signals that can be utilized to positively impact the afferent and efferent signal relaying capacity, thus increasing Vagal tone.

The Vagus nerve is central to the optimal function of immune and visceral organ function. This information is valuable in understanding and optimizing the quest for longevity and healthspan. Regulating function and controlling inflammation are key to building resilience, and the Vagus nerve is a very important piece to this puzzle.

Session Learning Objectives:

As a result of this activity, participants will be able to:

1.) Understand the specific Vagal circuits signaling inflammatory and regulatory information between the body and the brain.

2.) Evaluate Vagus nerve signaling to regulate cardiac and smooth muscle function.

3.) Apply nutritional, supplemental and neuromodulation strategies to increase Vagal tone, HRV and improve Vagus nerve signaling.
